Matt Peters

Matt Peters is an award-winning American chef, Bocuse d’Or champion, and restaurateur based in Austin, Texas. A native of Meadville, Pennsylvania, Matt’s culinary journey began at Le Cordon Bleu in Pittsburgh, where he built a rigorous foundation in classical French technique.

His career took him through some of the world’s most respected kitchens — from Alain Ducasse’s Adour to Thomas Keller’s Per Se and The French Laundry — where he eventually rose to Executive Sous Chef. It was Keller who encouraged Matt to compete internationally, setting in motion the journey that would lead to the Bocuse d’Or.

In 2017, Matt became the first American chef in history to win the Bocuse d’Or — the most prestigious culinary competition in the world. The victory was both a personal milestone and a statement for American fine dining: that precision, creativity, and ambition could place American chefs on the global podium.

Today, Matt is focused on what comes next - his highly anticipated debut restaurant. He continues his partnership with the Bocuse d’Or organization, coaching team USA, and is set to appear on CBS’s America’s Culinary Cup. He lives in Austin with his wife and two daughters.
